The year ahead

Monumental moments are becoming a regular part of the Eirmersive calendar.

Following our network launch in Sept 2024 with Minster Dara Calleary and a large representation from the wider immersive ecosystem, the industry in Ireland has come together, in the form of Eirmersive members, as if they have been magnetised.

Eirmersive is receiving funding from Creative Ireland as part of the Digital Creative Industries Roadmap, it's Forum and related actions and subgroups. We are proud and honoured to be at that table and to bring the needs and wants of our industry to the conversation with government.

I am also proud to have been nominated by the Eirmersive board to be CEO as of 1st Jan 2025.

Eirmersive is here to put the Irish immersive industry and its players on the international map. This began in a significant way with our first delegation to Stereopsia in Brussels in Dec ‘24. There were five Eirmersive members on this delegation and the collective, collaborative energy was electric. We took turns at the Eirmersive booth where delegates highlighted each others companies. We didn't talk about that in advance, it just happened. At the Eirmersive AGM on Jan 10th, I was delighted to share this cultural ideal with the broader membership base. We are building a community of members where peer-to-peer support and collaboration is at its heart.

We are thrilled to say we now have 33 members, and that continues growing day by day. Four of those members were elected to join the Eirmersive board of directors. Let me take a moment to give a massive thank you to our newly elected board which consists of Denis O’Keeffe, Gemma Forde, Paul O’Kelly, Jacinta Moore, Ciara Del Grosso Bates, Sarah Haslam and Aaron Jay.

We learnt a lot from our Stereopsia delegation and are proud, that alongside several of our members, we will be part of the Ireland House at SXSW in Austin this March. This is a (yet again) a monumental moment for the Irish immersive industry to showcase to US clients the value-add of not just immersive solutions but Irish-built immersive solutions!

2025 has started as, and will continue to be, a monumental year for the Irish immersive industry - its makers, its players, its buyers and its observors. Eirmersive and our members, supported by XR4Europe, are collaborating on EU projects - Erasmus, Creative Europe and Horizon.

We are looking to the future.
We are looking across the water.
We will continue to win global projects together.
We are building on the success of our animation, VFX and screen industries. Oral, spatial, experiential storytelling is in our blood.
We are stronger together.
We have only just begun!

Eirmersive's vision is for Ireland to be seen as a go-to global destination for immersive Solutions by 2028. We have already begun moving that needle and this year we will push it further, by supporting Irish lmmersive companies as they continue to thrive on the global stage.
